Report: Kevin Kolb signs two-year deal with Buffalo Bills

A few weeks after releasing former franchise quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick over salary issues, the Buffalo Bills are set to bring in a replacement -- but the name won't exactly get toes tapping in cheap jerseyupstate New York. Kevin Kolb, like Fitzpatrick a once-grievously overpaid player in comparison to his skill set, reportedly finalized a deal on Saturday that will make him the newest member of the Bills. The prospective deal is for two years, could max out at around $13 million, was first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The scientific term for this might be "Microscopic Lateral Move."
Kolb signed a six-year, $62.5 million deal with the Cards in 2011, after a limited run of reasonable success as a backup with the Philadelphia Eagles, who selected him in the second round of the 2007 cheap jerseys for sale NFL draft. But he played in just 15 games in two seasons, starting 14, as injuries and ineffectiveness derailed his time there. He was cut on March 15 because general manager John Keim and new head coach Bruce Arians, Arizona's new men in power, didn't want to throw good millions after bad. Similarly, the Bills cut Fitzpatrick loose because they didn't want to be on the hook for a $3 million bonus when the new league year began.
Fitzpatrick went on to sign a two-year, $6.5 million contract with the Tennessee Titans.and Though Kolb'd deal is larger on its face, he's likely a career backup -- competing with Tarvaris Jackson for that role in Buffalo -- and this certainly doesn't take the Bills and new head Atlanta Braves MLB Jerseys coach Doug Marrone out of the equation when it comes to selecting a quarterback with their eighth overall pick in the 2013 draft. Many believe that the Bills will target Syracuse quarterback Ryan Nassib, who played under Marrone, as their future franchise guy.

Out of Darkness, Springing Into Action

When half the Superdome went dark Sunday, so did the N.F.L.’s control center, up near the top of the stadium, above the last row of seats. Among the two dozen gathered there was Doug Thornton, the building’s manager since 1997.

Thornton shepherded the Superdome through the ugly aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and through a $336 million renovation. Super Bowl XLVII was supposed to be his showcase, part of a continuing resurgence.

And then the lights went out.

It was among the oddest moments in Super Bowl history. Some players did Pilates stretches on the field. Others lay on their backs. Fans remained in their seats or refueled at the beer lines. AT&T said its customers consumed 78 gigabytes of data on the in-stadium network during halftime and the blackout, double the peak hour at last year’s Super Bowl.

Thornton remained calm. Cameras from Showtime’s “60 Minutes Sports” happened to be in the command center, filming a longer feature. They captured Thornton’s breaking the news of an impending delay to the N.F.L.

“I wasn’t quite sure what was going on,” Thornton said.

Immediately, the questions started. What happened? How could it be fixed?

It took two minutes to determine the issue was one of power, not of public safety. It took more than 30 minutes to resume play. The process involved league officials, stadium officials, representatives from the electric company and electrical consultants.

Bell Tolls: Can Kaepernick score with Brees?

After picking apart the aging-but-revived cheap NFL jersey Chicago Bears defense on Monday night, the legend of Colin Kaepernick as the Great 49ers Quarterback Hope can grow significantly on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Kaepernick is expected to start Sunday's game against the Saints, while Alex Smith, trying to rebound from a concussion, still wasn't medically cleared for contact as the team prepared to fly to New Orleans on Friday afternoon.

Now all Kaepernick needs to do nike elite nfl jerseys cheap is outgun a desperate Drew Brees. Here kid, take the football and go.

That's a tall task for the apparently newly-graduated San Francisco 49ers quarterback, given the rhythm that is now flowing in the Big Easy. The New Orleans Saints recently have found their inner Sean Payton spirit, and at .500 for the first time this season, believe that Cheap NBA Los Angeles Lakers Jersey they can pull off the only thing that can get them into the playoffs -- one long winning streak.

Brees leads the NFL with 28 TD passes and has been on a tear lately, with an average passer rating of 125.5 during a three-game winning streak. Is Kaepernick up for a shootout? It helps that the second-year pro is supported by one of the best defenses in the world, a physical unit that ranks second for yards allowed and yields an NFL-low 13.4 points per game. Maybe it doesn't have to be a shootout after all.

Hope Solo and Former NFL Player Jerramy Stevens Were Involved in a Really Bizarre Domestic Dispute Yesterday

Yesterday, the world found out that Hope Solo was reportedly dating former NFL player Jerramy Stevens. But, today, there's a much different story emerging about the couple.

According to Seattle PI, Solo and Stevens aren't just dating, they're actually engaged. And, they're not just engaged, they're actually on the brink of getting married any day now. In fact, there are reports out there indicating that Solo and Stevens were preparing to get married today. But, wait: It gets even stranger. According to the same Seattle PI report, Solo and Stevens were also involved in a really bizarre domestic dispute that occurred at a house party in Kirkland, Wash. last night that resulted in Stevens getting arrested on domestic violence charges.

So, what happened? Well, it's hard to say exactly. In fact, it's hard to even summarize. The "domestic dispute" was, to put it bluntly, a real clusterfuck. It involved Hope's brother Marcus Solo, a stun gun, an argument between Hope and Jerramy over where they were going to live once they got married, and, well, a bunch of other really off-the-wall shit (the weirdest detail: Stevens was found sleeping on a bedroom floor with blood all over him when police arrived). But, in the end, Stevens—who, by the way, has an incredibly sketchy past—was arrested on fourth-degree domestic violence charges and spent most of today in the slammer before he was released earlier this afternoon.

For a full account of what happened—and to make yourself thoroughly confused!—check out the most current report of the incident over here. We'll keep you updated once the situation starts to make a little more sense. This definitely doesn't look too good for Solo, Stevens, or anyone else that was involved in the dispute, though. We hope it wasn't nearly as bad as it sounds

Former NFL DB Wade Davis comes out

During his time as a defensive back for the Tennessee Titans, Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks, Wade Davis was a smart player who spent a lot of time studying and drawing up the defensive schemes he would need to get ahead. He developed friendships with teammates like Jevon Kearse, Samari Rolle and Eddie George, did his best to stay alive in the ruthlessly competitive nature of the NFL, and dealt with one difficult fact -- he was a gay man in a profession where homosexuality was never discussed openly.
It took years after he left the NFL before he felt comfortable enough with himself to publicly admit that he was gay, but as Amy Nelson of SB Nation told me, that was a larger theme in Davis' life through the last decade as he looked to find his place in the world.
